Hypocrisy

... #ad▼

Hypocrisy is common every day. It is a sign of struggle of classes, such as parents versus children, employers versus employees, bosses versus subordinates, political leaders versus citizens, religious leaders and followers, privileged and underprivileged, racial clashes and sex clashes. It is often a sign of a person’s own struggle with their own humanity to overcome a weakness.

At its worst, it unjustly subordinates and oppresses people. At its best, it causes an uproar and stimulates discussion and clean-up toward fairness and equality. Though hypocrisy is frequently invoked as an accusation in debates and often considered evil, immoral or deceitful; theorists have studied the utility of hypocrisy, and in some cases have suggested that the conflicts manifested as hypocrisy are a necessary or even beneficial part of human behavior and society.

Are hypocrites bad people? Not necessarily, but you be the judge. Check this column for news and alerts on hypocrisy throughout the world. The purpose is to point out behavior and dynamics, not attack people, because, well, that might be hypocritical.
