A Cary man has been charged with attempted murder after police said he sent another man to the hospital with serious injuries from multiple stab wounds.
Fox River Grove police and Fox River Grove firefighter/paramedics responded about 11:42 p.m. Saturday January 13, 2018 to the block of 200 Opatrny Drive, Fox River Grove, to a report of a man stabbed.
Flight for Life was requested by Fox River Grove firefighter/paramedics, and the medical helicopter team transported a 31-year-old male stabbing victim to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
Michael D. Eccles, 60, of the block of 2400 Crystal Lake Road in Cary, was taken to the Fox River Grove police station and arrested in connection with the stabbing.
Eccles is charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery (great bodily harm) and aggravated domestic battery, McHenry County jail records show. If convicted of attempted murder, Eccles could face a six- to 30-year prison sentence.
Eccles and the victim knew each other.
Fox River Grove police and the McHenry County Major Investigations Assistance Team are investigating the incident.
Eccles was booked into McHenry County Jail on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at 3:07 p.m., according to McHenry County jail records. McHenry County Judge John Bolger set Eccles’ bond at $250,000 Monday morning. He must post $25,000 bail to be released, jail records show.
The next court appearance for Michael D. Eccles was scheduled for Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 9:00 a.m.
