Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:38 PM Friday November 24, 2017 to a report of a transformer explosion with a field fire near Douglas Avenue and Ivy Lane Arlington Heights, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that the field fire possibly self-extinguished before firefighters arrived.
Engine 4’s crew on arrival requested a observer location to investigate the location of the trouble.
Firefighters were lighting up the field with lights from the fire engine by about 7:47 p.m.
High wind gusts this late this morning and this afternoon exceeded 30 MPH according to the National Weather Service station at O’Hare.
