Bensenville police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 6:17 AM Sunday November 19, 2017 to a report of an Activated Alarm at an apartment building at 361 Marshall Road Bensenville, Il Bensenville, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that an Activated Alarm immediately followed by several calls of an apartment fire.
Fire officials believe the fire may have started or broke out from an apartment unit just before 6:00 a.m. One man was found dead in the building, which consisted of 18 apartment units. All other residents escaped the apartment building. There is early speculation among residents that the fire may have been caused by a man smoking in an apartment with oxygen tank nearby.
