Plainfield police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 12:33 PM Saturday October 28, 2017 to a report of a woman shot in the parking lot at Jewel-Osco, 13460 South Route 59 Plainfield, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a woman was shot by a man armed with a handgun in the Jewel-Osco parking lot in Plainfield.
UPDATE: Identities Released in Apparent Murder-Suicide in Plainfield
UPDATE: Plainfield police report that the shooting at Jewel-Osco is connected to an armed barricade situation that ended with a suicide by an armed man on Walnut Circle near 119th Street. Plainfield police reported they plan to release more details on Monday, October 30, 2017.
Shots were fired and the woman was hit, suffering life-threatening injuries.
There were also possibly children at the scene.
The suspect is described as an older male/white with gray hair, armed with a handgun.
The suspect’s vehicle is described as a Chevrolet with out of state plates. The vehicle was last seen on 135th Street from Route 59. The suspect is wanted for the investigation of attempted homicide.
We currently have 2 major crime scenes going on at jewel at 135th/59 and an active armed barricaded situation on walnut circle near 119th.
