Monday October 9, 2017 fires in California’s wine country killed at least 10 people, destroyed hundreds of homes and commercial buildings, and cause the evacuation of about 20,000 people.
SFGATE reports The California Growers Association held a conference call for the region every Monday morning, and said today that 6 of 18 regional leaders were under evacuation orders or were helping neighbors that were evacuating.
The California Growers Association was formed in 2015 to protect and promote growers and independent businesses within California’s cannabis industry, but has been active in the legislative process since late 2014.
At least two farm received substantial damage or major losses according SFGATE. CannCraft, SPARC’s Glen Ellen farm and the Sonoma County Cannabis Company are reported to have been damaged or negatively affected by the fires.
