VIDEO: Itasca Storm Damage Friday July 21, 2017.
On Saturday July 22, 2017 about 12:30 p.m. over 1200 ComEd customers remained without power after a storm with high winds hit Itasca about 4:56 p.m. Friday July 21, 2017.
Streets were quiet by midnight Friday/Saturday, but fire crews, public works crews and neighbors worked Friday evening to clear the streets and check on neighbors. Some large trees were uprooted, some large trees were split at the crotch, and some mid-size trees were split mid-trunk.
Several large trees were damaged or destroyed at Hamilton Lakes, and some roof parts were torn off and blown into the parking lot at the Westin Chicago Northwest, 400 Park Blvd, Itasca. The roof parts possibly came from the front entrance canopy.
No injuries were reported last night.
