UPDATE: Police and firefighter/paramedics responded to a report of a suicide, but discovered that Derick Lamont Brown, who was under FBI investigation, had shot and killed Arthur Riggins.
A neighbor went out to see what had happened, and was also shot. Dallas paramedic William An, age 36, was treating the neighbor when he was shot in the leg by a high-powered rifle that as fired by Brown.
William An was seriously injured while Dallas Police Seargeant Robert Watson while shots were still being fired. Another officer shot and injured Brown, who went into his house on Reynolds Avenue. Police sent a robot into the house and found Brown dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
A total of nine police officers were involved in the rescue and confrontation with Brown. One officer was hit by bullet fragments in the leg.

Dallas police and firefighters are on the scene in the 3200 block of Reynolds Avenue in East Dallas of an active shooter incident where a firefighter has been shot. The firefighter’s condition is unknown. Dallas Fire-Rescue has transported the firefighter to Baylor Medical Center, where the firefighters is undergoing surgery.
According to @ScannerRadioDFW the incident is close to the Dallas Fire-Rescue Department Training & Maintenance Center.
