Oak Forest police responded to an activated burglary alarm or report of a gun heist that occurred about 4:30 a.m. Friday at Eagle Sports Range, 5900 159th Street Oak Forest. Officers — apparently responding to an activated burglar alarm — were on the scene in about five minutes, but the offenders carrying the loot of guns had already fled the scene.
Video shows that three thieves entered the business by throwing a cinder block through a window directly under a security camera.
While inside, the three male offenders broke into two display cases. According to police, the thieves, all carrying backpacks, stole about 40 firearms.
According to police, a fourth suspect was waiting in a getaway car — only described as a blue vehicle.
Police and the ATF are investigating — reviewing video from inside and outside the gun range.
