Engine 324’s crew on arrival reports a 2-story wood frame with smoke showing — leading out.

The homeowner was treated for smoke inhalation by Barrington-Countryside Ambulance 38’s crew after the homeowner attempted to rescue a dog that did not survive.
Firefighters rescued a second dog, and transported the dog to a Buffalo Grove veterinary clinic.
Command reported water on the fire by 11:53 a.m.
The primary search of the house was declared all clear at 12:01 p.m.
Command reported the fire was under control and the secondary search was underway by about 12:02 p.m. The secondary search was complete by 12:44 p.m.
