Barrington Hills police received a report about 10:40 AM Thursday of a stolen plumbing van Burning Oak Trail and Braeburn Road Barrington Hills, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders took a white Nissan 2500 box truck from a residence on Burning Oak Trail near Braeburn Road.
The truck has the words Black Diamond Plumbing on the side, and is apparently a plumbing service truck. Black Diamond Plumbing was working at a luxury home on Burning Oak Trail in Barrington Hills when their truck was stolen.
The truck was last seen in the immediate area at 11:04 a.m. on Hillside Avenue.
The truck was being followed by a black or blue Volkswagen Jetta.
Police spotted the Volkswagen Jetta and were in pursuit of the vehicle until they arrived near Lake Street and the Des Plaines River near 1st Ave (Route 171). While attempting to flee, the offenders crashed the Jetta near Lake Street and the Des Plaines River near River Forest and Maywood.
Possibly two suspects are in custody.
As of 11:55 a.m. the Black Diamond Plumbing van was not recovered.
