Barrington police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 9:38 AM Thursday to a report that a police officer fell through the ice with his snowmobile at Baker Lake near Hillside Avenue and Bristol Drive Barrington, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a Cook County Forest Preserve police officer’s snowmobile fell through the ice.

The snowmobile was driven over a patch of ice that was too thin, but fortunately the police officer only partially fell into the icy water. The rear-end of the snowmobile when through the ice with the snowmobile about one-half submerged.
Firefighter/paramedics from several suburbs responded, but were able to return when the officer was declared safe.
The officer’s incident did not require transportation to a hospital.
