Arnold Palmer, known as “the King” for his transformative legacy in golf, died at the age of 87, according to the US Golf Association.
The greenskeeper from the mountains of Pennsylvania, who joined the PGA at age 25, has died at age 87.
Named Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year in 1960, PGA Player of the Year 1960, 1962; he won the Masters Tournament in 1958, 1960, 1962, 1964.
He won the U.S. Open in 1960, and won The Open Championship in 1961, 1962.
Palmer won the PGA Championship 1964, 1968, 1970.
He won the PGA Tour 82 times.

Golf legend Arnold Palmer has died at the age of 87. Palmer was known as “The King,” and earned seven majors during his half-century long career.
