A major counter-terrorist operation was activated in central Paris after witnesses near Rue Rambuteau — a street in Central Paris — reported they heard “shooting” on Saturday afternoon, September 17, 2016. The reports later discovered to be the result of mistaken citizens. Authorities have now notified the media that the activation was a “false alert” for Central Paris
