Waukegan police responded about 2:00 a.m. Friday to investigate a domestic disturbance call in the 3000 block of Arthur Court when multiple shots were fired in an unrelated incident nearby.

A police officer went to investigate the gunfire and “immediately” detained two men, police said.

After three more backup police officers arrived, someone yelled an obscenity at the officers and fired “four or five” shots at them, according Waukegan police.
