Route 618 — Union Station – Lake Cook Express — Service Discontinuation — Effective Monday, April 4, 2016
Due to low ridership, service on Route 618 will be discontinued effective Monday, April 4, 2016.
Pace: “Route 618 will no longer operate following the last trip on Friday, April 1, 2016.”
Passengers can continue to take advantage of Metra/Pace connections from Chicago to Lake Cook Road Station via the Metra Milwaukee District North Line. The first train from Chicago arrives at Lake Cook Road Station at 7:22am and is served by Pace Routes 627, 631, 632, 633 & 635.
Pace Route 618 Union Station – Lake Cook Express formerly operated an early morning, weekday trip from the Metra Milwaukee District North Line Western Avenue Station (Hubbard / Artesian, SW corner at 5:45 am)
and Chicago Union Station (Jackson / Clinton, SW corner at 6:00 am) to the Lake Cook Road Station (at 6:50 am).
Route 618 formerly traveled non-stop along the Kennedy (I90/I94) and
Edens (I94) Expressways to connect with Pace Shuttle Bug Routes 627, 631, 632, 633, and 635 at the Lake Cook Road Station.
