Palatine police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 12:23 AM Saturday to and activated fire alarm followed by a 9-1-1 call reporting a balcony on fire at 909 West Panorama Drive Palatine, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a propane tank was on fire on a townhouse balcony.
Police on the scene reported flames were showing from the balcony and the roof.
First firefighters on the scene reported heavy smoke showing from the rear of the building, then reported heavy fire at the rear of the building.
Firefighters led out with a line to the rear yard and hit the fire on the balcony. A second line was also led out interior and moved up to the second floor to check whether fire spread inside. Interior firefighters reported heavy smoke inside, but did not find any interior fire at 12:26 a.m.
Firefighters also searched both floors of the townhouse for any possible fire victims.
Firefighters declared loss stopped at about 12:52 a.m.
