Chicago firefighters, paramedics and police and Metra police responded about 6:07 PM Friday to a report of a pedestrian hit by a train near Laramie Avenue and Seminole Avenue Chicago, IL. Firefighters had difficulty locating the body of a pedestrian that was hit by a train between the Forest Glen Metra station and the Edgebrook Metra station near Edgebrook Woods.
Firefighters found the victim near the front of the train by 6:38 p.m.
Initially the incident was reported at Devon Avenue and Central Avenue near the Edgebrook Metra station.
Inbound and outbound train movement has been halted near Edgebrook due to train #2141 striking a pedestrian. The duration of this delay is unknown but extensive delays are anticipated. Train #2141 is an outbound train that was scheduled to arrive in Edgebrook at 5:56 p.m.
