Four-time Golden Globe nominee Tony Danza will be returning to TV sitcom life playing the opinionated, old-school Italian father to ‘Sebastian’ — the character played by real-life comic Sebastian Maniscalco, who grew up in Arlington Heights and graduated from Rolling Meadows High School.
I'm thrilled to announce @tonydanza will be playing my father in my new @nbc pilot!http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/tony-danza-sets-sitcom-return-867750

The family comedy ‘Sebastian’ stars Sebastian Maniscalco as a man whose old-school values, instilled by his opinionated Italian father (Danza) are constantly put to the test by his new wife, her family and the absurdities of the modern world. Fans of Maniscalco’s comedy tour “Aren’t You Embarrassed” and his hilarious insight into everyday life (“What’s Wrong with People?”) are certainly going to be excited about seeing Sebastian in a sitcom. Tony Danza is a master of the sit-com, so it will be interesting to see how their chemistry plays out.
Danza previously starred in “Taxi” and “Who’s the Boss.”
The NBC sitcom pilot, from CBS TV Studios and Garcia’s Amigos De Garcia Productions, was inspired by Maniscalco’s life. Written by Austen Earl and to be directed by Scott Ellis, it chronicles Sebastian’s (Maniscalco) life.
