Heavily-armed French police are conducting raids where the Paris attacks mastermind is believed holed up in the suburb of Saint-Denis. A Woman with a suicide bomb vest blew herself up. One man was also killed, and five arrested.
Five terror suspects were arrested and two terror suspects were killed pre-dawn Wednesday morning. A female terrorist wearing a suicide vest blew herself up after police launched a raid targeting the alleged mastermind of last Friday’s massacre in Paris.
Abdelhamid Abaaoud, a 27-year-old Belgian ISIS militant, was believed to be inside the apartment with five other heavily armed people. Police stormed the apartment building and were met with unexpected violent resistance. At least four police officers were injured during the raid. A 7-year-old Belgian Malinois police dog named “Diesel” was killed during the confrontation.
A male terrorist wanted in connection with the bloody series of suicide bombings and shootings in the French capital on Friday was killed by a grenade during the raid. A female terrorist blew herself up by detonating an explosive belt.
Witnesses in the neighborhood reported that the first explosions were heard about 4:00 a.m. Local Time Paris. The explosions were followed by non-stop exchange of gunfire that lasted about one hour. At least seven explosions were reported by witnesses in the center of Saint-Denis.
French government spokesman, Stéphane le Foll, declared the raid officially over at about 11.30 a.m. Local Time Paris, after 7 1/2 hours of armed conflict.
The status and/or whereabouts of Abdelhamid Abaaoud was unknown ot the public as ot 12 noon Local Time Paris.
