Active shooter scene with SWAT response after police responded about 9:00 a.m. PT Wednesday to a report of an active shooter with a long gun or rifle inside an apartment building at 2445 Brant Street, San Diego.
Police requested a hold on flights over the neighborhood as precaution to prevent a stray bullet from hitting aircraft landing or taking off from San Diego International Airport. Runway 27 is only about 3,000 feet from the neighborhood.
Several school nearby were also placed on lockdown.
