CNN: “When Donald Trump tries to sow doubt about President Obama’s citizenship, how should media figures respond?” Brian Stelter speaks to Newsmax TV host Steve Malzberg.
Some people would say it is a waste of time to argue whether Barack Obama is a Muslim or a Christian, especially compared to pressing issue such as the national debt, the Iranian nuclear deal and jobs. However, the Muslim issue has been a pesky little question for year. Now it’s popped into the spotlight again this weekend after a man presented himself last Thursday as a Trump supporter at a rally, and commented that Obama is a Muslim and not an American citizen. During the September 17th Rochester, New Hampshire event, the unknown man in a “Trump” T-shirt said that our current president “is one” (a Muslim). The man also wanted Trump to “get rid of” supposed Muslim “training camps” in the United States. Since the identity of the man has not come out, and he is nowhere to be found, some people suspect he was a plant. The response to Trump’s lack of response festered over the weekend.
Apparently, there are many media figures and political figures that believe the confirmation of Obama’s citizenship and religion is a done deal, but polls indicate the issue is not a done deal. Here CNN’s Brian Stelter confidently states that Barack Obama is a Christian and is a citizen of the United States. Even though Barack Obama isn’t running for President of the United States, the question is being used as a tool to attempt to electrocute Trump’s campaign.
But Steve Malzberg, from NewsMax, who explains that he is not a defender of Donald Trump, says he understands what the fuss is all about. Malzberg believes Obama is perceived as an Islamist sympathizer by his actions — citing support for the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and his rocky relationship with Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. In addition, comments and gaffes have raised suspicions about where his heart is.
THEY THINK HE IS MUSLIM OR THEY JUST KNOW
15% of Democrats in a CNN poll think Obama is a Muslim
Almost 48% surveyed think Obama is a Muslim and/or say they don’t know in a CNN poll.

President Barack Obama says he prays regularly and that he and his wife, Michelle, aren’t bothered when they “hear our faith questioned from time to time.”
The following is not meant to infer that Barack Obama is comparable to historical dictators, but obviously leaders in history have lied or deceived about their religious belief or devotion to Christianity for political gain. In a 1922 speech — a little over a decade before his rise from chancellor to dictator, Adolf Hitler said,”My feelings as a Christian points me to my Lord and Savior as a fighter” while insiders knew him as skeptical or ambiguous about Christianity — and opportunistic. Historians report that Hitler moved to destroy the influence of the Christian church in Germany after carefully appearing religious in order to gain power and trust of German citizens in a free election.
Just before World War II, and following the most recent persecution and banning of religion from 1928-1941 (with churches decreasing from about 30,000 to 500), Joseph Stalin revived the Russian Orthodox Church to intensify patriotic support for the war effort and presented Russia as a defender of Christian civilization. Stalin knew the church had an ability to organize and motivate people.
It may be polite to trust Barack Obama on his word that he is a Christian, but it is certainly not hateful to be skeptical about his actual belief or his potential for utilizing the perception that he is a Christian for his own political gain. Besides President Barack Obama has said that he and the First Lady aren’t bothered when they hear their faith questioned.
Here are videos that have been used by skeptics regarding Barack Obama’s religious background.
“High Horse” comment. Obama used a Prayer Breakfast to bring up the Crusades to criticize actions of Christians in the 14th century to illustrate our hypocrisy. CNN: “At a prayer breakfast on Thursday, President Obama discussed the crusades and slavery, saying many terrible things were done in the name of Jesus Christ.”
Obama at Easter Prayer Breakfast: “Less than loving expressions by Christians.”
Michael Savage: Jesus Missing From Obama’s Georgetown Speech. The gold “IHS” monogram (described as an abbreviation for the name of Jesus Christ) inscribed on a pediment in the hall was covered over by a piece of black-painted plywood, and remained covered over the next day, CNSNews.com reported (NBC News: Jesus Missing From Obama’s Georgetown Speech).
As a Senator, Obama mocked the Leviticus, Deuteronomy, and The Sermon on the Mount as guidance for modern world public policity.
