University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Chancellor Phyllis Wise announced she will resign just two weeks before classes start for the Fall semester on her decision due to a range of “external issues” that she says have become a distraction for the school. Apparently there are several lawsuits challenging her decision-making.
She would have made $549,068 — one of the highest paid public employee salaries in Illinois, instead she will get the $400,000 departure bonus and a faculty job at more than $250,000 annual salary.
$650,000 > $549,000 at least for this school year.
