A 2.9 magnitude earthquake was felt near Lake in the Hills this Wednesday evening, according to the US Geological Survey.
The small earthquake occurred at 6:08 p.m. just east of Mason Lane and just south of Miller Road near the Boulder Ridge subdivision. The epicenter was located on the Boulder Ridge Golf Course just southwest of Long Cove Drive.
A 2.9 quake is known to be felt by some people, and does not damage buildings. The quake’s depth was 9 km, according to the US Geological Survey.
