Palatine police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 5:17 AM Thursday to an activated fire alarm at the former Hotel Bollero, 920 East Northwest Highway Palatine, IL. Police were first on the scene about 9:20 a.m. reported nothing showing from the outside.
Firefighters from Quint 83’s crew reported heavy black smoke on the first floor north side after entering the hotel.
Palatine fire command upgraded the call to a working fire response to receive assistance from Arlington Heights firefighters at about 5:30 a.m.
Firefighters found the seat of the fire in a room on the first floor on the west side of the building at 5:42 a.m. The fire was reported knocked at about 5:49 a.m. The fire was declared out at about 5:51 a.m.
