Dashcam video shows a natural gas explosion that leveled a house that was unoccupied at the time. But 15 people, including firefighters and gas company workers, were injured from the explosion near the New Jersey shore.
A utility crew was working to repair a gas main leak near Oak Avenue and U.S. Route 9 in Stafford Township around 10:30 a.m when an explosion destroyed a home near the leak. The blast injured 15 people. Two people were critically injured and one person was treated with CPR.
Six of the injured people were gas company workers who were trying to locate the source of a leak that filled the neighborhood with a strong gas smell just before 9 a.m.
Also, seven firefighters and two emergency medical service technicians were were injured with reports of concussion-like symptoms from the shock wave of the blast.
Windows were blown out of neighboring homes.
