One man in tokyo shares how the social media app launched his photography career.
Professional photographer/Instagrammer Hioaki Fukuda didn’t intend to be a professional photographer, but he turned his hobby into a career. Fukuda has an eye for images. He has over 70,000 followers.
Facebook bought the photo-sharing app for $1 billion in April 2012. Instagram is valued at over $30 billion today.
The name “Instagram” is a portmanteau of “instant camera” and “telegram” and development began in San Francisco, when Kevin Systrom and Brazilian Mike Krieger chose to focus their multi-featured HTML5 check-in project, Burbn, on mobile photography in 2010.
