Elk Grove Village police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 11:28 AM Tuesday to an activated fire alarm with smoke entering the building from an exterior dumpster fire at at Clear Lam Packaging, 1950 Pratt Boulevard Elk Grove Village, IL. The fire crew on Elk Grove Fire Engine 9 on arrival reported a large dumpster fire with heavy smoke entering the building.
About 11:34 a.m. the incident was upgraded to a confirmed fire call with a report of a garbage fire inside the building.
The fire was extinguished by 11:56 a.m. and firefighters were working on overhauling the area and clearing the building of smoke. The fire did not extend into the building, according to fire crews at the scene.
Firefighters were shutting down the sprinkler system and checking the garbage chute for any possible extension of fire at about 12:03 p.m.
