Facebook experienced an outage with messages at about 2:25 p.m. Central Time Sunday. People that were in the middle of replying to a message, might have received a message in red text that stated the message failed. The message offered clicking to send again, but there was nothing to click on the display.
“This message failed to send. Click to send again.”
A subsequent page reload displayed a page with no messages in the messages list and a spinning blue cursor wheel.
It is unknown how many users were affected by the outage. Users in Illinois, Michigan, Scotland, Australia, and Greece are among people who have reported experiencing a problem with messaging in Facebook. At 2:30 p.m. CT Sunday, Facebook’s Platform Status page reported “Facebook Platform is Healthy
Since November 24 at 11:29am” but a graph reported a spike in Average API Response Time and a spike in Average API Error Rate.
