Arlington Heights Health Services will be offering flu shots for seasonal influenza on Tuesday, September 30 from 5-7 p.m. and Wednesday, October 1 from 9 -11 a.m. These clinics will be held at the Arlington Heights Senior Center, 1801 W. Central Road. No appointments are necessary and there are no residency restrictions.
The flu shot that will be administered is the Quadrivalent Influenza Vaccine, which is injectable, free of any preservatives, and approved for ages 3 years and older. Quadrivalent Influenza Vaccine has NOT been studied in pregnant women. A doctor’s note will be required to receive this vaccine if you are pregnant. The traditional Trivalent influenza vaccine is well studied among pregnant women and is available at many local pharmacies.
The cost for the vaccine will be $25 or billable to Medicare for those with Medicare Part B as their primary insurance. For additional information please call the Village of Arlington Heights Flu Shot Hotline at 847-368-5770 or Health Services at 847-368-5760.
