Aurora police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:11 PM Wednesday to in the block of 200 North Smith Street Aurora, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics responded to a report of two gunshot victims. On arrival they reported two gunshot victims with no offender on scene.
Both victims were sitting on the front porch of a house when a cream-colored, 4-door vehicle arrived. A gunman exited the vehicle and shot at both men — hitting both. The shooter ran westbound on Claim Street after the shooting. The vehicle the offender exited was driven southbound on Smith Street.
Both men were transported to local hospitals. An eighteen-year-old male was pronounced dead at the hospital at 7:43 p.m. The 31-year-old male was listed in stable condition at another hospital.

Police have alternate ways to transmit tactical, operational or investigative information, while still keeping their main public dispatch channels open for the best balance of public safety and police safety.
