There is an increased chance of storms after 1:00 a.m. The NOAA/NWS Storm Prediction Center has declared Illinois in a zone of increased probability of a tornado and large hail in the late afternoon early evening time frame.
Satellite images show large heavy clouds over Iowa consistent with convection, but a large are of storms in western Iowa only indicate severe thunderstorms in Nebraska approaching the state line at about 8:30 a.m.
