The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Arlington Heights Police Department will coordinate efforts to remove potentially dangerous drugs from homes.
The eighth National Prescription Take-Back Initiative will provide an opportunity for the public to surrender unwanted, expired and unused pharmaceuticals and unwanted over the counter medication to law enforcement officers for their proper disposal. This will be a great opportunity for those who have accumulated unused or unwanted prescription drugs, to safely dispose of them.
The Prescription Take-Back Initiative will take place on Saturday, April 26, 2014, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. The collection site for the pharmaceuticals is the Arlington Heights Police Department, located at 200 E. Sigwalt Street. The service is free and anonymous. Tablets, capsules and all other solid dosage forms will be accepted. Intravenous solutions, injectables and syringes will not be accepted.
The positive national response to this program over the last seven events has resulted in the removal of more than 3.4 million pounds (1,733 tons) of medication from circulation.
Buffalo Grove Police, too …
On April 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Buffalo Grove Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will give the public its eighth opportunity in three years to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous, expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs. Bring your pills for disposal to the Police Department at 46 Raupp Blvd, Buffalo Grove, Illinois. (The DEA cannot accept liquids or needles or sharps, only pills or patches.) The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.
Mount Prospect Police, too …
The Mount Prospect Police Department will be participating in the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) sponsored National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, which will provide a venue to dispose of unwanted, unused or expired prescription medications – including controlled substances.
Items can be dropped off at the Mount Prospect Police Department (112 East Northwest Highway) on Saturday, April 26, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. inside the main lobby. Intravenous solutions, injectables and syringes will not be accepted.
Palatine Police, too …
Palatine, Illinois – On Saturday, April 26th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Palatine Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will give the public an opportunity to rid their medicine cabinets of expired, unused prescription drugs. Bring the unwanted medications; no questions asked to the Palatine Police Department located at 595 N. Hicks Road for disposal.
Intravenous solutions, injectables and syringes will not be accepted.
