Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 9:31 AM Tuesday to a multiple-car crash on WB Interstate 90 east of Arlington Heights Rd Arlington Heights, IL). Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a tollway crash on westbound I-90 just west of Arlington Heights.
Arlington Heights fire crews checked west of Arlington Heights Road and found nothing. Then a report was received that the crash was in the westbound lanes, east of Arlington Heights Road. The crash was located just east of Arlington Heights Road near the Daily Herald headquarters.
Elk Grove Township firefighters automatically respond to crashes in the westbound lanes, but did not have an ambulance available. First firefighter crews arrived about 9:50 a.m.
Several victims of the crash had minor or no injuries, and signed medical refusals. No victims were transported.
Westbound I-90 was backed up to Elmhurst Road at about 10:00 a.m. and as far as almost Mount Prospect Road at 10:10 a.m.
