Arlington Heights police arrested a DUI driver 2:29 AM Saturday near Northwest Highway and Arlington Heights Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police first observed the driver of a 2000 Mercury Cougar stopped at a traffic light Eastbound on Northwest Highway at Arlington Heights Road. When the traffic signal turned green light, the vehicle did not move after 10 seconds. Then the vehicle proceeded, and was observed speeding and weaving across lane dividers.
Police stopped the vehicle and notice a strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle. Also, while the driver was going through her purse, the police officer observed a clear bag containing suspect cannabis. When police searched the vehicle, they found additional Cannabis and a glass pjpe.
Police transported the driver in custody to Arlington Heights Police Department Headquarters. The driver’s vehicle was towed to a police holding area.
Police arrested Kyra Hantel a female age 30, of the 100 block North Russel in Mount Prospect.
