Arlington Heights police arrested a DUI driver 2:20 AM Sunday December 8, 2013 near Rand Road and Palatine Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police committed to a traffic stop just off of Rand Road in a shopping center at the southeast corner of Rand Road and Arlington Heights Road.
The driver left the H.O.M.E. Bar near Rand Road and Olive Street, Prospect Heights at about 2:10 a.m. The vehicle was driven out of the parking lot west of the bar, and was headed westbound on Rand Road when it was observed as a possible DUI driver.
Traffic stop in darkness about 2:20 a.m. Sunday, December 8, 2013. Police face the risk of a threat with an unexpected weapon on every traffic stop — especially in darkness. For this possibility and for administrative reasons, several police squads often are involved in traffic stops at night.
Police transported the driver in custody to Arlington Heights Police Department Headquarters. The driver’s white pickup truck was towed to a police holding area.
