Riot police in Bellingham, Washington used pepper spray to disperse hundreds of college-age revelers who threw projectiles at officers. Three people were arrested in the melee late Saturday and early Sunday.
Hundreds of college-age people at a party in Bellingham in Washington state started a riot when police attempted to stop a party that had become too loud and disorderly. Students and other young adults threw projectiles at police. Police responded with armored vehicles and pepper spray to disperse the crowd.
Multiple partiers were arrested during the melee late Saturday and early Sunday. Bellingham, about 75 miles north of Seattle, and is home to Western Washington University. Witnesses reported many of the rioters were not students at Western Washington University.
