CNN’s Chris Lawrence reports local police departments are looking to drones to boost their surveillance capability.
Local drones can use thermal cameras that are so sensitive, they can “see” footprints following a person that is walking.
Accountability is a big question, because a camera up in the clouds, out of sight, can track a person. There is also concern that information about a person could be collected without that person being a suspect in a crime.
The FAA and drone experts expect an increase of thousands of drones in the skies over the next decade.
