Police, firefighters and paramedics from Buffalo Grove responded about 8:36 a.m. Monday, September 30, 2024 to a report of a rollover crash with injuries in the parking lot of the Endeavor Health Northwest Community Health Care Immediate Care Center, 15 South McHenry Road in Buffalo Grove.
Police, firefighters and paramedics on arrival discovered a Lexus SUV rolled on its passenger side at the top of a ravine with a driver inside. The SUV was stabilized by Buffalo Grove firefighters, and the adult female driver inside was extricated by about 9:03 a.m. She was assessed and transported by paramedics to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.
The next job was getting the vehicle removed. Hillside Towing responded to the scene with three tow trucks to complete the job. The crew with Hillside decided to pull the SUV off the edge of the ravine with one of the rotator crane trucks. The SUV was also held up by a damaged tree that was at risk of breaking.
The vehicle was successfully removed by the Hillside rotator crane and crew, then pulled to the side by a smaller tow truck to an area where no utilities were located. The initial crash path damaged an AT&T data box, and was also close to electric utilities next to a cell tower. AT&T was already at work to repair the data box as soon as the rotator crane phase of the vehicle recovery was completed.
The SUV was transported from the scene on a Hillside flatbed truck.
