Arlington Heights Police Dept. Announces Results of IDOT’s Designated Labor Day Traffic Enforcement Campaign

The Arlington Heights Police Department recently completed enforcement activities relating to the Illinois Department of Transportation’s (IDOT) designated Labor Day Enforcement Campaign. The campaign was conducted from August 16th, 2024 through September 3rd, 2024.

The primary focus was to identify and apprehend motorists who chose to drive while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, drive without using their safety belts, or were committing licensing, equipment or other miscellaneous Illinois Vehicle Code traffic violations.

Enforcement activities resulted in the following cumulative arrests and citations:

63 = Failure to Wear Seat Belt

51 = Cell Phone Use

14 = Equipment Violations

12 = Registration-related Violations

6 = Child Safety Seats

5 = Speeding

1 = Suspended Drivers Licenses

The Arlington Heights Police Department is committed to traffic safety and will continue to be an active participant in IDOT’s grant programs by participating in the upcoming Child Safety Seat enforcement campaign.
