Police officers, firefighters and paramedics from Lake Forest responded about 5:53 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2024 to the block of 1900 South Oak Knoll Drive on the far southwest side of Lake Forest for a report of a psychiatric emergency with a male armed with a knife. The incident also possibly involved a domestic disturbance.
Additional area law enforcement officers and a Lake Forest social worker were also assigned to the scene, while a special police communicator and the social worker were able to successfully communicate with male.
According to the Lake Forest Police Department, police “officers were able to take the subject into custody. At no time was there a threat to the community.” The incident lasted around two hours in a neighborhood of large single-family homes on approximately one-acre lots.
Lake Forest Fire Department paramedics transported the male to a nearby hospital. No charges were filed as of Friday night.
