DUI arrest after crash on Quentin Rd near Lake Cook Rd near Deer Park and Palatine in unincorporated Palatine Township YouTube Tips ⓘ

Palatine police officers and Cook County Sheriff’s deputies, and firefighters and paramedics from Palatine responded about 12:24 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2024 to a report of a crash with injuries on Quentin Road just south of Lake Cook Road near Deer Park and Palatine in Palatine Township.




Upon arrival of Cook County Sheriff’s Police deputies at the crash scene near the intersection of North Quentin Road and West Lake Cook Road, officers learned that prior to the crash, a white Chevrolet Equinox had been driven southbound on Smith Street in Palatine. The driver of the vehicle allegedly struck a vehicle on Smith Street, and then fled the scene.

The victim of the hit-and-run crash then followed the white Chevrolet Equinox and observed the driver collide into the rear of a dark colored sedan, which then collided with another sedan in the northbound lanes of Quentin Road just south of Lake Cook Road.

The driver of the Equinox was identified as Ignacio Garcia Juarez, 28, of the 300 block of West Terra Cotta Avenue in Crystal Lake. While on scene, Juarez failed a field sobriety test.

Garcia Juarez was arrested and issued four citations …

DUI/Alcohol,

DUI/Under the Influence of Alcohol,

Failure to Remain at the Scene of a Crash, and

Leaving the Scene/Property Damage Accident.

Paramedics evaluated several people at the scene. According to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office, no injured people were reported that resulted in transportation to the hospital by paramedics.
