Police and firefighters, and paramedics from Arlington Heights responded about 12:27 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 2024 to a psychiatric emergency on the Union Pacific Northwest Line railroad tracks near the downtown Metra train station at 45 West Northwest Highway.
Police and paramedics received a report that a male/white subject was lying on the railroad tracks near the train station. The male was wearing a blue shirt, beige shorts and no shoes. He was also seen by a witness running along the railroad tracks.
Paramedics arrived for an assessment, and the male was transported from the scene.
Train personnel were alerted and trains were halted temporarily, but no Metra alert for the Metra UP-NW line was posted on X.com.
