Police, firefighters and paramedics from Arlington Heights responded about 9:12 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2024 to a report of a crash with injuries involving a day care center or child educational center at 1060 West Rand Road in Arlington Heights.
Police, firefighters, and paramedics on arrival discovered the driver of a Toyota sedan crashed into a front support post at the south east corner of a building at the Huntington Square strip mall. The occupants of the vehicle initially did not report any injuries, but the driver may have crashed while impaired from a recent medical/dental treatment at a nearby medical/dental office.
Arlington Heights police officers made sure that the passenger, who was a legal driver, replaced the driver that crashed. The vehicle had front-end damage, but was drivable.
Initially, there was no word on any citations or charges.
The Village of Arlington Heights Building Department sent an inspector to check for structural damage or other damage at the building.
The information in this article is an early report published before any summary information was confirmed or released by police or fire authorities.
