X, formerly Twitter, is teasing a new app that is being built for the seamless viewing from devices, such as smartphones, to large screen Smart TVs. In a teaser video, the interface has some resemblance to YouTube. In March 2024, Fortune magazine called the new app a YouTube clone. There’s speculation that the new XTV app could have a significant effect on mainstream media.
First use on the big screen is reported to be an XTV app launch on Amazon devices and smart TVs and Samsung smart TVs, according to Fortune.

Another recent development from X on iOS now includes Chromecast support, allowing direct streaming to a Chromecast-enabled TV without the need for Apple’s screen mirroring.
There is already an XTV branded app on the iOS App Store from TiVo Platform Technologies LLC.
