Evan J. Rude, age 24, of the block of 900 Lucinda Drive in Buffalo Grove has been charged with Disorderly Conduct (Class 4 Felony), accused of filing a false emergency 9-1-1 call reporting that a 6 year-old child was seen swimming and apparently in danger in Green Lake Park, 1101 Green Knolls Drive in Buffalo Grove.
A police investigation determined that the 9-1-1 call was a false report allegedly made by Evan Rude, who was arrested, charged, and released.
Filing date for Evan Rude was today, March 7, 2024. The next court date for Evan Rude is in Lake County Circuit Court of the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit on March 21, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. (First Appearance).
Police, firefighters, and paramedics from Buffalo Grove responded about 5:06 p.m. Tuesday, February 20, 2024 to the report of the 6 year-old in the lake. Buffalo Grove firefighters and paramedics and sonar technicians and divers from nearby fire departments worked at the scene for several hours using a side-scan SONAR device.
The firefighters and divers checked the pond for several hours as a precaution, and the search did not find a body in the water.
A MABAS Division 1 Box Alarm on Box #26W-1 for boats and techs only for a “drowning” was initially activated about 5:39 PM. A short time later a MABAS Division Box Alarm for divers was also activated as a precaution.
Evan J. Rude was also charged last year with Criminal Damage to Property for a fire that occurred in a residential garage in Buffalo Grove on September 2, 2023. The charge was dismissed in Lake County Circuit Court of the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit on November 6, 2023.
