Illinois State Police, Rolling Meadows police and Schaumburg police responded about 8:30 a.m. Thursday, January 11, 2024 to a report of a man with a gun near Route 53 and Algonquin Road in Rolling Meadows.
Rolling Meadows police advised that a male pedestrian was on Algonquin Road and ran toward Route 53, and then ran toward the former Stadium Sports Club and Pizza bar on the south side of Algonquin Road west of Route 53.
Rolling Meadows police officers had a suspect in custody by 8:40 a.m.
Police were also investigating a white Model Tesla Y that was located with a driver in the southbound local lanes of Route 53 over Algonquin Road to see if the vehicle was connected to the reported man with a gun. The driver told an Illinois State Police trooper that the Tesla ran over debris, and that he was waiting for tow — not connect to the man with a gun report below.
No significant traffic delays in the area at 8:45 a.m.
