Police, firefighter, and paramedics from Schaumburg responded about 6:44 p.m. Saturday, November 25, 2023 to a report of a possible narcotics overdose victim in need of help in the Kohl’s parking lot near the driveway at 171 North Barrington Road, Schaumburg.
Police, firefighters, and paramedics received a report that a male, age 19, was unconscious and not breathing in a black Chrysler 300 with the hazard lights activated near the driveway of the Kohl’s parking lot.
Extra personnel from Schaumburg Fire Department responded for Advanced Life Support treatment, but the victim did not survive.
According to the Cook County Medical Examiners Office, a 19 year-old male from Hanover Park died at approximately 7:44 p.m. The Primary Cause of death was not yet released, pending test results.
No personal naloxone kit was available on the scene before police and paramedics arrived with naloxone (Narcan).
