Highland Park 4th of July mass shooting suspect Robert E. Crimo III, age 22, of Highwood and formerly of Highland Park learned in court today, Monday, September 11, 2023, that his trial date will be set in December 2023. The case management hearing today, scheduled for 11:00 a.m., lasted a few minutes.
CRIMO III TRIAL FACTS …
Faces 21 counts of first-degree murder (three counts each for seven people that were killed), 48 counts of attempted murder and 48 counts of aggravated battery with a firearm (one count for each victim hit by bullet or shrapnel).
Crimo III was charged on July 5, 2023, and was held without bail.
Crimo III confessed to the murders, and identified himself as an image on surveillance video.
Crimo III was indicted on 117 felony counts on July 27, 2022.
Lake County Public Defenders Gregory Ticsay and Anton Trizna are assigned to defend Crimo III.
Judge Victoria A. Rossetti presided in today’s case management hearing.
