A Northern California sheriff’s office has arrested three 16-year-old boys on accusations that they sexually battered a 15-year-old girl who hanged herself eight days after the attack last fall.
Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Lt. Jose Cardoza report that two of the teen suspects of a sexual assault were arrested at Saratoga High School and the third, a former Saratoga High student, was arrested at Christopher High School in Gilroy on Thursday. The arrest follows the suicide of Audrey Pott in September 12, 2012 — eight days after she was sexually assault at a house party in Saratoga, California, and cell phone photos of the sexual assault were shared by students.
Audrey Pott was sexually battered while passed out at a party. She was sexually assaulted by her fellow high school students while she lay on a bed completely unconscious. Next, the offenders shared the photos in days following the crime, as Audrey Pott was not even aware of the assault. A family attorney said that eight days after the assault, Audrie Pott, 15, was humiliated by the photos. She posted on Facebook that her life was ruined, “worst day ever,” and hanged herself.
